a microprocessor for networked, Java-based control
The IM1101 is a microcontroller designed for connectivity. In application where power consumption and bill of material are important, while computationally intensive tasks must be performed. Its revolutionary architecture makes it efficient at both Java and real-time control, and it can do data communication as well as image processing and graphics.
The IM1101 is used in a number of applications where the level of integration required demanded the type of performance the IM1000 software and hardware platform delivers. It can be used where large amounts of data shall be transferred at very high data rates or where power efficient stand-by modes are required and still with the high level programming like the Java. Its powers can be unleashed when time-critical lops are optimized in microcode.
One of its first applications was a color laser printer controller with specifications for color space conversion and half-toning is efficiently programmed in micro code. The design environment comes preloaded with software including operating systems and file systems. Included in the Java package is eg. a TCP/IP converter and a web server.
