Remote Monitoring and Control
With the reduction of the form factor for advanced processors we now see advanced measurement and control units applied in the field together with sensors and actuators at the source of interest. Still much of the energy in wireless nodes like this is spent on the transmitter and sending of raw, unprocessed, data. With new energy efficient processors capable of taking on advanced measurements and analysis locally, much energy can be saved before starting to spend power on costly wireless transmissions. The IM1000 has fast signal processing capabilities and IEEE754 floating point acceleration combined with inherent high level problem solving and programming from using a Java ME standard profile.
